The Joint Admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) has disclosed that it has put a new innovation in place that will enable it deploy enough questions for the JAMB exam for all the candidates writing on a particular day.
This was disclosed by JAMB’s Head of Information, JAMB, Dr Fabian.
He explained that in previous years the board can only deploy questions once in a day.
So even if there are three batches of candidates (morning, afternoon and evening) writing the examination on the same day, they have to answer the same questions. But this is no longer the case.
According to him, if we have three sessions or batches, we will deploy three times; this is a new innovation to ensure that even the person at the centre does not compromise the sanctity of the examination.
He equally mentioned that so far, about 1.3 million candidates have registered for the examination billed to hold between May 13 and 20.

Nigerian music producer, Samklef joined numerous Nigerians in suggesting a lasting solution to the crisis battling the economy of the country.
Samklef in his tweet suggests federal government should legalize medicinal weed as it will grow the economy very well. See the tweet below:
Recently, the United States launched it’s non-nuclear Mother of all Bombs against ISIS targets in Afghanistan.
Now, the Russian military has come out to say it’s own ‘Father of all Bombs’ is the most powerful thermobaric bomb of its kind, four times more powerful than the American “mother of all bombs,” the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal and the largest non-nuclear bomb the United States has ever used in combat.
Based on the released specifications analysts say Russia could be right. “We believe it’s real,” said retired Col. Rick Francona, military analyst and former US military attaché in Syria. He continued to say, ‘the Russians have been among the pioneers of these thermobaric bombs. I don’t have any doubt that they could build this’.

A former governor of Benue State and serving senator of the Federal Republic, George Akume, has fired back at those criticising President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to deliver on his campaign promises.

Akume said anyone who is saying Buhari has achieved nothing since he assumed office is either blind or too myopic to see anything good about the current government.

The former Senate Minority Leader insisted that despite the attacks on the president, the APC-led government has not in any way disappointed the nation since it came on board on May 29, 2015.

The APC chieftain in an interview with Vanguard voiced his conviction thus, “I want to say with all emphasis that APC has not disappointed and has not failed this nation. We must recognise one fact that this government inherited a zero economy, we started from ground zero. Some said it’s even minus. There was nothing. We had a meeting with the president, we know what he told us on what he had to do before they started paying salaries.

“I believe we have not disappointed Nigerians There was no money, don’t forget that when President Olusegun Obasanjo was leaving, we had N64 billion in foreign reserves. By the time President Muhammadu Buhari took over, we had less than N30 billion. The economy was comatose – everything including toothpicks were being imported and irredentist movements were all over the place.

“We had the Boko Haram ravaging the North-East, and in the South South, we had serious security challenges. Don’t also forget the fact that we had serious issues of kidnapping, robbery and the rest. I don’t want to talk about corruption. Nigerians know very well what took place in the past.”

Akume faulted the belief in some quarters that his partyman and governor of his state, Samuel Ortom is helpless over the killings of his kinsmen by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He said, “Actually, I want to correct the impression you have created that the governor is helpless. The governor is not hopeless, he’s not helpless. The governor has taken fundamental steps as the chief security officer of Benue State, to guarantee the security of lives and property.

“I would come to that later. But I want to state this and very emphatically too, that there had always been a conflict between farmers and cattle rearers, it’s something that can never be completely eliminated, but it’s something that can be brought under control. I was a small boy in those days, I was born in the 50s and I went to school in the 60s.”

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of giving presidential protection to treasury looters in his administration.

Fayose alleged that Presidential Villa in Abuja has been turned to a facility where President’s men hide their own loot.

The Ekiti governor neither provided details nor gave any proof to substantiate his allegation.

He accused the President and his administration of fooling Nigerians with what he called “staged-managed recovery” of looted cash in some locations in the country in a bid to convince them that the anti-corruption war is on course.

Fayose, in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Assistant on public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, alleged that the hefty cash in local and foreign currencies recovered in some parts of the country belong to top officials of the Buhari administration who have become untouchable because of the backing they enjoy from their principal.

He called on the international community to hold the Nigerian government under Buhari’s watch accountable on the recovered N13 billion cash found at a flat in Ikoyi, Lagos, stressing that the issue “must not be swept under the carpet.”

Fayose was reacting to a statement credited to the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, who said that treasury looters now bury stolen funds in their backyards, deep forests and burial grounds in a bid to escape the scrutiny of Bank Verification Number (BVN) and evade arrest.

But Fayose countered by saying: “Looters in the Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidency, especially those being compensated for funding the election of the President in 2015 bury their own loots in the Villa with presidential protection.

“Should it be wrong for other supposed looters that do not have presidential protection like their All Progressives Congress (APC) counterparts to bury their loots in burial grounds probably for spiritual protection?”

“Nigerians can no longer be fooled with stage-managed loots recoveries, with no traceable owners (looters), especially when the loots are traceable to close associates of the President and his cabinet members.

“Obviously, this so-called anti-corruption war has become a laughing stock with N49 million found in Kaduna Airport, N448 million discovered in a shop at Victoria Island, Lagos and N13 billion found in Ikoyi, Lagos, neither having owners nor the identities of owners of the properties where the money was found known.”

“It is either the money belongs to members of Buhari’s government or it is being planted by the government to sustain its fake anti-corruption fight in the minds of the people.”

“Enough of stage-managed and fake anti-corruption war aimed solely at opposition figures, especially presidential hopefuls in the 2019 election.”

The governor noted that two different laws were now being operated in the country, with one law for the APC and those who decamp to the party and the other for the opposition, especially those perceived as having presidential ambition.

He added: “The narrative they push daily is that only those in their government are saint while other Nigerians, including those in the National Assembly, Judiciary, opposition politicians and the civil servants are rogues while only Buhari’s appointees are saints.

“To worsen matters, the cluelessness of the APC government in the last two years has plunged the country into debt without anything to show.

“The cabals in the Presidency are also taking advantage of the President’s state of health, which is as a result of his age to oppress Nigerians.

“Nigerians must therefore keep their eyes on the ball and not be carried away by the orchestrated distractions aimed at preventing them from seeing how the APC led government has failed woefully.”

When you were in the House, some of your fans went as far as climbing the mountain to pray for you, how did you react when you heard about it?

Na so I hear o. You know, in Nigeria, we are very passionate about prayer; when we want a particular thing, we pray over it and I’m glad their prayers for me were answered.

How do you plan to spend the N25 million you won?

Well, I will spend it based on logistics (Laughs).

Do you have any plan for Marvis after the BBN House?

All those kisses have ended with the show (Laughter).

Did you have any girl friend before going into the BBN House?

No, I didn’t have a girl friend.

Why now?

It’s because I’m not really particular about girls. I do my thing the way it comes.

After Big Brother Naija, what’s next?

It’s music, music all the way. I also look forward to working with Olamide Baddo. He voted for me and promised to support my career. God bless him.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Easter Sunday said that ''Jesus had a characteristics of being around criminals.''

Osinbajo made the claim in his Easter sermon. “Jesus before now had shown that he came to stand with criminals, sinners. For instance, John 8:3 proved to us that Jesus intervened in the case of a woman who committed adultery; in Luke 19:5, Jesus was seeing with Zacchaeus, a corrupt man. So Jesus had a characteristics of being around criminals.

“He said I have come for these people. Between the criminals was Jesus Christ; one repenting and the other mocking. Spiritually, Jesus stood between hell and heaven. His cross is a cross of mediation; he is an intercessor. All that is required is to believe in him; acceptance of his commitment he made on the cross,” the Vice President said.

The Emir of Kano and former Central Bank governor (CBN), Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has indicated that the legion of beggars on the streets in Nigeria and mostly in the north is a thing of concern to him and that there is no harm in learning from the west.

This came as he called on northerners to emulate southern economic ways of life rather being idle. Most of the beggars roaming Nigerian streets are northerners, begging for a living while their Southern counterparts learn trade and become technicians, contributing economically and socially to the development of Nigeria, Emir said on his Instagram page.

He slammed the conservatives Muslims whom he said are harming Islam through their refusal to expand their knowledge outside their own religion and failure to realize that knowledge is power.

He said Northern political leaders like Governor Yari should pay attention to him, there will never be a day when anywhere in the North will be like the modern Muslim cities of Kuala Lumpar, Istanbul, Jakarta, Lahore, Greater Cairo, Dacca, Karachi, Dubai, Riyadh or Faisalabad.

However, Sanusi charged Northern leaders to hearken to his voice and opinions towards the development of the Northern region. “I choose to fight for the progress of Nigerians and suggest solutions to their problems. “It’s my duty to speak the truth about the ill-effects of conservative Muslims who are harming Islam rather than helping it.

“I condemned their refusal to expand their knowledge outside their own religion and failure to realize that knowledge is power. “I also correctly concluded denying the right to pursue scientific and technological knowledge and restricting people to Islamic knowledge is the best means of ensuring that Muslims in Northern Nigeria will remain economically backward.

“I’m upset at the legion of beggars on the streets and is trying to bridge the gap between the backward North and the Southern parts of the nation. “I still believe that conservative Muslims are still stuck in the 13th Century and their claim that children need no other knowledge than Islamic studies flies in the face of reality.

“All the poverty, under-development and immense suffering in the North are a result of uneducated masses refusing to learn work or a trade. “The majority of technicians in Kano are from the South while untrained indigenes beg.

How does that make sense? “Why is it that conservative Muslims who claim to be against scientific progress enter aeroplanes and fly to perform the Hajj in Mecca rather than using camels to cross the desert!

Why do they watch sermons beamed by TV live from Mecca and read the Holy Quran on their laptops yet profess to abhor modern technology? “I’d like to point out that there is no harm in copying from the West if it brings succour to the masses of poverty stricken Muslims in Northern Nigeria.

BBNaija winner, Efe Ejeba has signed a recording deal with Davido’s label, DMW.

Reports claim that Efe was offered the deal in Johannesburg, South Africa following his win at the reality TV show.

According to a spokesperson for DMW, “Efe is loved by all, the people love him and that’s why he won.

Asides supporting him to win Big Brother Naija, we decided to support him further with a music deal. Based on logistics, we know he’ll go places but we believe Davido Music Worldwide will be a grand opportunity for him.”

Former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said that despite the economic challenges the country faced during the last administration, they left some solid economic legacies for the Buhari led administration.

Debunking claims that the economy was in shambles before the new administration took off, as claimed by President Muhammadu Buhari she said, “such claims are untrue” and that the “current economic crisis rocking the country could partly be attributed to the unguarded utterances and unfounded allegations against the last administration by certain individuals whom for the sake of political gains, painted the economy black and by so doing, sent a negative message to the international community and investors” as she once warned.

She added that despite the challenges they faced in the last administration, they did their best and had everything under control but that the Buhari administration is now in charge and responsible for the direction of the economy.
It could be recalled that the ex-Finance minister once warned that the unfounded allegations on the economy against the Jonathan administration, could result to unintended consequences.

She said, “The allegations that the economy was in ruins are absolutely false,”

“we cannot take away the fact that the Jonathan administration, in spite of the challenges caused by 50 per cent decline in the price of oil, has made a clear and measurable difference in many important areas and anyone who says nothing has been done and nothing is being left behind is being very unfair to facts and to history.

The Federal Government plans to provide at least 15 million jobs for Nigerians by the year 2020 as captured in the recently launched Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP). The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, gave the assurance at a news conference on ERGP on Tuesday in Abuja.

Udoma said that the implementation of the plan would deliver some key outcomes including generation of at least 10 gigawatt of electricity by 2020.

The government, he said, want to bring down the rate of unemployment by creating over 15 million direct jobs by 2020 in agriculture, manufacturing, construction, services and particularly among the youth.

The manufacturing sector is to grow at average of 8.5 per cent, peaking 10.6 per cent by 2020.
“We want agriculture to also grow by 6.9 per cent over the Plan period; we want self-sufficiency in rice and wheat 2018 and 2020 at the end of the plan period.

“We want 60 per cent reduction in imports of refined petroleum products by 2018 and to become a net exporter of refined crude by 2020.

“We expect an average of 4.6 per cent average real GDP (Gross Domestic Growth) growth rate over the Plan period with 7 per cent by 2020; we want to achieve single digit inflation rate by 2020.”
“We want to increase crude oil output from 2.2 million barrel per day (mbpd) to 2.5 mbpd by 2020.

“We want to achieve at 10 gigawatt of operational electricity capacity by 2020.’’
Udoma said that the ERGP evolved from the Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) which government had been implementing since 2016.

“Already, following the implementation of the SIP, the economy has shown signs of early recovery in the 4th quarter of 2016 as indicated in the recent report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). “We need to build on that momentum.

“This Plan, which succeeds the SIP, sets out Government’s economic programmes and strategic interventions over the next four years (2017-2020).

“When implemented, it will put Nigeria back on the path of diversified, inclusive, sustained growth. This is therefore, our blueprint for economic recovery and growth.’’

Udoma further said that the plan would tackle the fundamental problems that held back the progress of the country in the past. He said the future prosperity rests upon collective support towards effective implementation of the Plan over the next four years.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ERGP’s projected that Nigeria will make significant progress to achieve structural economic change with a more diversified and inclusive economy in five key areas by 2020.

The leadership of pro-Biafra group, Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, has stated that no amount of intimidation from police and other security agencies will stop its struggle for the separation of the South Eastern part of the country from Nigeria.

The group said this while calling on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris to order the Ebonyi State Police Command to bring back all its properties that were unlawfully carted away during its raid on the premises of the group in 2013.

Addressing newsmen in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, leader of BIM in Ebonyi state, Nwifuru John who gave the list of the items with the police to include, ID cards, 6 pairs of boots, uniforms, 48 plastic chairs and N250,000 cash.

He further accused the police of regular intimidation, harassment and unlawful arrest and detention of members of MASSOB in the state.

His words, “As freedom fighters, no amount of persecution and intimidation would deter the group from pursuing its core objective of actualizing the sovereign state of Biafra in the near future.”

The group also accused the police of disobeying court verdicts which had ordered the police to pay compensation of N2 million and N5 million respectively for damages against the group.

He further described the BIM as a non-violent organization and wondered why the police were in the habit of disobeying court orders in favour of the group.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said he will be in support if President Muhammadu Buhari decides to nominate Ibrahim Magu, as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a third time.

Speaking with journalists at the presidential villa in Abuja, Osinbajo also commended Buhari for not interfering with the DSS report which indicted Magu.

“We should commend the president for not interfering with what the DSS said. The DSS came up with a report and the man who was accused refuted it,” he said.

“He explained and gave a reason. When that happened, the president looked at what Magu said and what the DSS wrote and he said ‘I am satisfied with what Magu said’.

“He then decided to retain Magu as the nominee for EFCC. I don’t see any reason why that should be contested. The president has not interfered with what the DSS said. If he wanted to interfere, he would have ordered the DSS to keep quiet. He didn’t do that, but he said ‘I don’t think the DSS report is meritorious enough to withdraw his nomination.’

“The President reserves the right to say, ‘this is who I want’. I’m fully in support of Magu as the EFCC chairman just as the president is”, he declared.

Osinbajo also towed the line of Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN),who said Buhari could re-present Magu before the Senate(http://dailypost.ng/2017/03/31/buhari-powers-re-appoint-magu-falana/).

“It is up to the senate to make their judgement, and it is up to us say what we want to do. If our candidate is rejected, we can re-present him. No law says we can’t re-present him. And again, there is the other argument, whether or not we need to present him for confirmation and that’s a compelling argument from Femi Falana,” he said.

“His argument is that under the constitution, section 171, and if you look at that section, it talks about the appointments that the president can make. They include appointments of ministers, ambassadors and heads of agencies such as the EFCC. In that same section 171, the constitution rightly said that certain appointments must go to the senate such as ministerial and ambassadorial appointments. Those of heads of agencies like the EFCC do not have to go to the senate. That’s what the constitution says. But the EFCC act, which of course as you know is inferior, says that EFCC chairman should go to the senate for confirmation.

“I am sure that even a pocket book lawyer knows that when a legislation conflicts with constitution, it’s the constitution that prevails. I agree with Mr Falana that there was no need in the first place to have sent Magu’s name to the senate, but we did so and it was rejected by the senate, but I believe that it can be re-presented. I don’t think there is anything wrong about the fact that senate has rejected him. Senate has acted in its own wisdom to say ‘No, we don’t want him’, and we can say, ‘This is our candidate… we like the gentleman and we want him to continue”, he added.

Hmm! All these money is in this country and we are in recession…Oh Naija! So, one day after a whistle-blower led the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to intercept huge sums of money in various currencies at the popular Balogun market in Lagos, another huge cash has been uncovered.

Wilson Uwujaren, Head of Media and Publicity, in a statement on Tuesday night, said another whistle blower led operatives to the discovery of a staggering sum of N4billion suspected to be proceeds of crime.

“Investigations as to the owner of the funds revealed that the money belongs to a former deputy governorship candidate in Niger State,” he said.

“The suspect uses the names of two companies– Katah Property & Investment Limited and Sadiq Air Travel Agency- in laundering the funds.

“Each of the company has N2billion fixed in its deposit account domiciled in Guaranty Trust Bank.

“The suspected owner of the account and the account officer are currently on the run”, he added.

Self proclaimed Queen of Instagram and Facebook, Lopex Morrissa, has caused a stir online after she took to her IG page to say that any woman who doesn’t have braziers for each day of the year is incomplete.

She wrote;

“I never wear a bra again after wearing it once” she wrote, “I wonder how women wash and re-wear one bra, That’s cheap and gross! Brassiers are meant to be worn once then discarded.

If you don’t have 365 braziers in your closet for the whole year like i do, then you’re an incomplete woman. Yes..i said it”

Don’t push it:

You might be tempted to beg, negotiate or sulk, but this will only push her further away and make you seem pathetic. Plus, it will instantly turn her off.

There is nothing arousing about being pressured for s*x. If she says no, let it be, simply pretend it does not bother you and don’t bring it up for a while. She will be taken aback and begin to immediately question whether or not she will give it to you, which is what you want.

Get her to relax:

The thing is, most women expect that visiting a guy means he will ask for s*x. This causes her to put her guard up. Even if she is willing to give it to you, she would still want you to work for it.

So, what you need to do is get her to bring down her guard by getting her to relax. If you ask and she says no, focus on other ways to make her feel comfortable with you. Watch a comedy, play some games, whatever makes her laugh and let go. It is only when she feels truly comfortable that she will consider having se_x with you.

Make your move:

Now she is relaxed, comfortable and laughing with you, this is when you make your move. Flirt with her by bringing se_x into the convo. Start with something random but not too threatening like, ‘Damn, if I ever get hold of that se_xy a$s of yours, I will take you to heaven and back.’

In one statement, you have complimented her and made her think about se_x with you. If you have followed steps 1 and 2 above, by now she will be having an inner conflict whether or not to let you have some. But once again, don’t push.

Flirt with her and compliment her.

If she giggles or return the flirting, slowly move towards her and give her a soft kiss. Let her lead the way so she feels like she has all the power. At this point, make sure she tells you with her words or her body that she is ready to take things to the next level.

Warning: These tips will only work if she is attracted to you in the first place but unsure if she wants to sleep with you. If she insists she is not interested in se_x after cajoling and flirting with her, respect her decisions. There is absolutely nothing s*xy or manly about rap3 or coercive s*x.

YBNL Rapper, Olamide, would above everything love to make heaven after all is said and done.

The ‘Who You Epp’ crooner said that there was nothing more important than making heaven in this life when asked what he would consider to be his greatest achievement in life.

“My biggest achievement in this world is seeing my people grow, everybody lining good and everyone living fine, living their dreams and making heaven.
“There is nothing more important than making heaven mehn., everything in this life is just jonzing. They don’t last long mehn, nothing lasts forever,” he told Planet Radio.

Meanwhile, Olamide has vowed to do all in his power to help new BBNaija show winner, Efe achieve his dreams.

The Muslim Rights Concern in Ekiti State has condemned the proposed act by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose’s to demolish some mosques in the state, describing it as an act of aggression.

Four mosques were last week marked for demolition by the Ekiti State government.

However the government gave reasons for the proposed demolition saying, Muslims could contact cancer from the radioactive emission from petrol stations where the mosques are located.

However, in a statement made available to our correspondent on Friday by MURIC Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the attempt to demolish the mosques is an act of aggression against peace-loving and law-abiding Muslims of the state.

“It is primitive, provocative and sadistic. It is an undisguised invitation to anarchy. The state government’s excuse of exposure to cancer is lame, infantile, laughable and untenable. What of hundreds of petrol attendants who have been serving in petrol stations in Ekiti State since its inception on October 1, 1996?

“How many of them have had cases of cancer? How many petrol attendants in the whole of Nigeria have been exposed to radioactive emissions? Can the claim be certified by the World Health Organisation? Fayose’s public health adviser must be from hell,” the statement said.

Akintola stated that Fayose’s radioactive emission claim was a “mere cloak for political vendetta”.

He said, “It has since been revealed that all the four petrol stations involved belong to Alhaji Suleman Akinbami, a chieftain of the opposition party. Fayose has probably forgotten that the end-users of those mosques are Muslims of Ekiti State and the petrol dealer hardly uses them..

“This is where Fayose misfired. He is targeting Muslims in Ekiti State by attempting to demolish those mosques but he has forgotten that anyone who attacks a mosque anywhere in Nigeria has courted the wrath of Nigerian Muslims. Ekiti State governor is waging war against Islam. Fayose has murdered sleep and he shall sleep no more.”

The Muslim scholar also accused Fayose of not liking Islam. He claimed that the governor formed an all-Christian government after assumption of office in 2015.

Akintola said, “Muslims may be left with no option than to make Ekiti ungovernable for Fayose if he goes ahead to demolish those mosques. Freedom of worship is enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution and civil disobedience is the inalienable right of a persecuted people. We will resist this oppression if the system will do nothing about it.”

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has warned those “destroying the Naira”, that they will not live to enjoy their illicit gains.

Adeboye stated this during a sermon yesterday, at a special Sunday Service organized by RCCG Region 11, Ikoyi/Victoria Island family, at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Onikan, Lagos.

The much respected cleric, also said he received a revelation from God early this year, but was just sharing it for the first time. “Those who are deliberately destroying the Naira will make the money but will not spend it,” Adeboye declared.

The Naira has drastically nose-dived in value in recent months, exchanging at over N500 to the dollar, before it began to appreciate lately.

As at last weekend, it suffered further depreciation after it was sold N405 to the dollar at the parallel market. Recall that the Naira gained N1 against the Dollar last Thursday to sell at N397, but it lost N8 on Friday to go for N405.

Some Forex traders at the Olugbede Modern Market in Egbeda, Lagos, told reporters that the recent free-fall was caused by the inability of some customers to easily access Forex through the banks.

In Nigeria, there is a large number of persons in the entertainment industry under the label “upcoming artist”. A state like Niger state, for example can be seen as the state in Nigeria with the highest number of upcoming artists. Very many see the entertainment industry as a source of quick wealth, popularity and fame, which without disputing is true.

Almost every young adult wants to be a musician and only few, very little would make it. Many upcoming artists would remain upcoming artists till they quit, only a few would make it to the apex of the entertainment industry.
But why?

Why would they remain upcoming artists forever? Why won’t they make it? Why won’t they get their lucky break?.

I have examined three reasons for this :

1- No Talent

It is one thing to love music and it is another thing to know how to sing. Many go into the music industry because they love music and want to be known for singing but forgetting and neglecting the importance of been talented. Talent is everything in this world. People do not looking for the “good” they look out for the “best”.

As long as you are not talented in your area of specialization then forget about patronage. No one dares to associate with untalented individuals. We all like people with the innate ability to do things. Among the large number of artists very few have a talent for music. All we see are jobless youths trying to earn their living from music, singing whack, noisy and foolish songs. An upcoming artist who isn’t talented would remain one forever.

2- Zero Uniqueness

Aside from being talented, many upcoming artists would never blow because they exhibit what I call ” zero uniqueness” . What I mean in essence is, upcoming artists are copy cats, doing what establish artists have done or are doing. As an upcoming artist you may be talented but if you are not unique in your own way of music, becoming a star would be like a folktale or better still a fairy tale, very unrealistic.

Have you pondered? What is behind the love shown to Runtown’s “Mad Over You” or John Legend’s “All of Me” or better Grammy awards winner Adele’s “Hello”? These are songs which are totally different from the normal. They are completely different from what we hear everyday. They are classical tunes, artistically unique borne out of a wealth of the artists uniqueness.

For an upcoming artist to rise to stardom being unique must be his or her priority, being exceptional must be his/her major goal. Singing songs in patterns and styles no one has is the ultimate in the music industry but home and abroad.

3- Lyrical Content

This is the main reason for this write-up. A large number of upcoming artists find it hard to put down good and sensible lyrics. Their songs are always childish with useless wordings. An artist who can not sing a song with good lyrical content, is that one an artist? Come to think of it, how do you expect people to sing and play your songs when your lyrics suck?

How do you expect sponsors and labels to come when your lyrics are nothing to write home about? How do you expect radio and TV stations to play your song when the lyrics are considered vulgar and unfit for listeners and viewers? How do you expect to sell when your lyrics are laced with obscure words and depict a high level of moral decadence? The world today appreciate songs that lifts the soul and for the record the instrumentals of a song doesn’t do that, it is the lyrics of the song that do such.

Lyrics have a say over how far your songs go, how well your songs sell and how much respect people accord you. Take for example the Next rated award at Headies in 2015, Reekado Banks won even when everyone believed Lil-Kesh.

Hours before Efe won the Big Brother Naija 2017 reality show, rapper Olamide made a pledge to support him when he gets out of the show.

Olamide also promises to work closely with Efe on a new single titled “Based On Logistics” which stands as Efe’s slogan.

See what Olamide tweeted below:-

This is a great move and will  further cement the love of Efe in the hearts of more Nigerians.

Congrat Efe & Thanks to Olamide 😄😄

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said that church leaders are part of the people encouraging corruption in Nigeria.

Obasanjo stated this on Saturday, while speaking at the convention of Victory Life Bible Church International in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He was represented at the event by Femi Olajide, who is the chapel of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library’s Christ the Glorious King Church.

“There is no doubt that all our institutions have been tarnished by the brush of corruption.

“If the Church, as an institution, does not take bribe or get involved in other corrupt practice, the behaviour of some of our men of God leaves much to be desired.

“They not only celebrate but venerate those whose sources of wealth are questionable. They accept gifts (offering) from just anybody without asking questions. This gives the impression that anything is acceptable in the house of God.

“But if Jesus can chase out those buying and selling from the temple with the declaration that, ‘My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves,’ then it is time to stand up against corruption,” Obasanjo said.

He also urged churches to preach prosperity messages with caution and moderation.

“Our present day ‘money changers’ and ‘merchants’ must be chased out of the Church and put to shame in the larger society.

“While miracles, signs and wonders are the expectations of true believers, such must be based on righteousness. To preach that one can acquire wealth without labour is not only deceitful; it is a call to corruption. It is false preaching and it is sinful.

“We must be careful in believing and celebrating every testimony of miraculous blessing, hence we end up being hoodwinked into celebrating corruption,” Obasanjo added.
A Nigerian User on Twitter has declared that she’d commit suicide if Efe doesn’t win the Grand prize of N25m and SUV.

She made this known via her Twitter page (“@Godsgiftele”) saying:-

“I Will Commit Suicide If Efe Doesnt Win The 25mil..#BBNajia“ – The lady wrote, along side with a her picture.

Of course, she got some replies, with many noting that she is “insane”

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has revealed that his convoy was once attacked by Boko Haram in Borno State.

Buratai revealed this in an interview with The Nation.

According to Buratai, he was leading troops to clear the ambush in Mafa village instead of returning to Maiduguri.

“I was with them and my convoy was ambushed by Boko Haram. Instead of withdrawing back to Maiduguri, I said, ‘No! We are in this together, I can’t go back. We must all go together to clear the ambush,” Buratai said.

“So I advanced with them and that was how we cleared the ambush. If the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) does not turn back, who would turn and run from such an ambush? I advanced with the troops and it paid off.

“Unfortunately, we lost two soldiers; one of them was an officer. One other soldier, a Brigadier-General, got wounded in the attack,” he added.

He added that the troops killed 10 terrorists and captured five.

Buratai also said the terrorist group has been greatly degraded since he took over as army chief.

“My greatest fulfilment is with the progress that has been made in the war against Boko Haram since I resumed as the Chief of Army Staff,” he said.

“We came at a time when truly the challenge of the insurgency was very high. It was at its peak. There is no gainsaying that some progress had been made before we came in. But the progress that was made before we came in was being overtaken by the virtual resurgence of Boko Haram terrorist group.

“At the time we came, there were only four local governments that were not under the Boko Haram terrorist group’s control out of about 27 local governments in Borno. Same in Yobe state; two local governments were still under Boko Haram’s influence. That was the situation we met when we came in July 2015.

“As at today, those two local governments in Yobe state have been reclaimed from Boko Haram. And in Borno, all the 23 LGAs that were under the influence and control of Boko Haram have been liberated and they’ve been effectively put under the control of the elected government. The areas that are remaining are just the peripheral, that lies along the border between Nigeria and Cameroon. And Chad and Niger borders as well. No single local government is under the control of Boko Haram. To me, this is a major achievement and source of fulfilment,” Buratai said.

- Former militant commander, Israel Eshanekpe, has taken Asari Dokubo to the cleaners describing him as lacking in moral rectitude to attack President Muhammadu Buhari

- Eshanekpe in response to Dokubo's utterance against Buhari's administration, said Niger delta people are no more ready for crisis but for peace

- He said Reno Omokri was a failure as his boss, former President Goodluck Jonathan, mismanaged the nation and looted the economy

Israel Eshanekpe, President of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, has lambasted former militant leader, Asari Dokubo, saying he lacked the moral rectitude to assess the President Muhammadu Buhari - led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration stating that he is alone in his threat as the people of the region have embraced peace and cannot return to violence again.

Israel Eshanekpe attacks Asari Dokubo. He said Asari Dokubo has no moral rectitude to appraise Buhari's government
Eshanekpe, who x-rayed the life of Asari Dokubo during the presidency of former President Goodluck Jonathan, said Dokubo was part of the problem of the region, noting that he derailed the attention of the former president from serving the nation.

Dokubo had, in an interview, appraised the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, scoring it zero in performance and warning Vice President Yemi Osibanjo to stop visiting Ijaw land in his peace pursuit across the region.

He faulted Buhari’s administration, saying there is nothing to appraise in his government, asking: “Is there anything to appraise in the Buhari led government? What is there to appraise? Can you multiply zero? If you multiply zero, what would it give you?”

Dokubo, who denied making inflammatory statement during the campaign leading to the presidential election in 2015, added that the oil in Ijaw land belongs to Ijaw people, hence Vice President Osibanjo should perambulating Ijaw land because of the oil in the area.

But Eshanekpe, in a statement, a copy of which mailed to NAIJ.com, said Dokubo’s utterances were careless, reckless and senseless, adding that each time he is financially grounded, he finds occupation in attacking the system so as to gain opportunity in his illicit trade in crude in oil and gas.

He challenged Dokubo to own up on the threats he issued against the emergence of Buhari prior to the presidential election at a meeting in Yenagoa and others he publicly issued at different for a, noting that Niger Deltans know him as a demagogue who thrives on crisis to his advantage.

Israel Eshanekpe said Reno Omokri should keep quiet because his boss, former President Goodluck Jonathan, disappointed Nigerians
The coalition noted that it was unfortunate for Dokubo as his threats no longer hold waters because the people of Niger Delta, Ijaw inclusive, have chosen the path of peace and do not need a talkative and mischief maker like Dokubo to stoke crisis for the region, adding that he is alone in his ignoble path.

Eshanekpe said nobody could reverse the success in peace building already achieved in the region by the current administration, noting that except the region’s interest is not paramount to Dokubo, he could go it alone and leave others out of his unrighteous acts.

Also, Eshanekpe fired Reno Omokri, former special assistant on new media to former President Goodluck Jonathan, describing him as a poor manager of failure, saying he is yet to embrace the realities on ground.

He said if Omorki’s boss were to remain in office, Nigerians would have been roasted by hunger and starvation, describing Jonathan’s government as the worse administration in Africa, a government involved in massive looting, plunging the nation into the current recession.

Many Nigerians living in diaspora who have been deported from the various countries they live in, have stormed Lagos.

Some 50 Nigerians were on Thursday deported from eight European countries for committing immigration-related offences.

The Nigerians were deported variously from Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, Spain and Hungary.

Their deportation is coming barely 48 hours after another set of 40 Nigerians were deported by the Italian government, for similar reasons.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the fresh batch of deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos at about 7.36 a.m.

The deportees, comprising of 48 males and two females, were brought back in a chartered Privileged Time aircraft, with registration number EC-L20.

The spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the development to NAN.

Alabi said: “This morning, we received 50 Nigerians who were brought back from Europe.

“We had three males from Switzerland; from Germany, we had seven males; from Sweden, we had four males, from Luxembourg, we had six males; from Austria, we had 18, comprising of 17 males and one female.

“From Belgium, we had only one female; from Spain, we had five males and finally from Hungary, we had six males, which makes it a total of 50,’’ he said.

Alabi said all the deportees were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences in their host countries.

He said the deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and the Police.

Also on ground to receive them were officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

NAN gathered that the deportees were allowed to depart to their various destinations after the authorities had profiled them.
